Janice Hooton

Janice Hooton age 84, of Momence, IL peacefully passed away on August 28,2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born on Sept 19th in Athol, Massachusetts to Waino & Hiljda Maijala. Janice dedicated her life to her family and friends. More than anything, Janice was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved spending her time reading, cooking, and traveling between Las Vegas & Illinois with her husband (Cliff). Her kitchen was always open, and her home was filled with laughter and the smell of her famous Oogee Foogee. She is survived by her daughter(Lori Schultz{Dave Schultz}),her grandchildren (Christopher Hooton{Dana Hooton}, Gordon Hooton {Christine Hooton},Ashley Smith{Mike Smith}, Jason Hooton {Jennifer Hooton},Alyssa Romein{David Romein},Troy Schultz). Janice has seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Clifford B. Hooton, her son’s Gordon & John Hooton, along with her parents. Arrangements for funeral services will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Elwood, IL following cremation.
